Sometimes just knowing where to start is the hardest part. This small front yard had been bare dirt for many years before the homeowners hired me to help guide them. With a design and detailed instructions in hand, installing the garden themselves wasn't too complicated or expensive. The resulting minimalist garden is already looking beautiful at this early stage in its development.
New swales and mounds provide interesting topography while capturing rainwater. A ground cover of decomposed granite provides a clean desert feel. Summer-dry plants thrive without the need for an irrigation system.
